Musica Lumina concert series at St. John Brebuef continues May 5

Make Them Hear You: Music of War, Peace and Justice will make great use of the fabulous acoustics at the church at 8307 N. Harlem, Niles.

The Musica Lumina 2018-19 Concert Series continues Sunday, May 5, at 3 p.m. when the Apollo Chorus of Chicago will present Make Them Hear You: Music of War, Peace and Justice. Tickets are available at https://www.apollochorus.org/event/spring-concert-20190505/ and at the door. Featuring special guests from the Chicago Community Chorus, this eighth concert will make great use of the fabulous acoustics at St. John Brebeuf Church, 8307 N. Harlem, Niles.

A program designed to explore universal challenges and inspirational examples of togetherness, this concert will feature music from American composers such as Leonard Bernstein and and Eric Whitacre, and international melodies from India and Syria, among others. The performance will include special guests from the Chicago Community Chorus under the direction of Keith Hampton.

The Musica Lumina Orchestra is a professional orchestra which serves as a partner with the Niles Metropolitan Chorus, a community choir with members from all faiths and walks of life. Rachelski has issued an open invitation to people in the community to become members of this dynamic group. Rehearsals are Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. in the St. John Brebeuf Church.
