New Glenview Village Manager Hired

Matthew Formica to become fourth village manager in Glenview history.

GLENVIEW, IL — The board of trustees of Glenview hired Matthew Formica last week, approving his contract as the new village manager unanimously at a meeting Thursday. When he starts no later than June 5, Formica will be the village's fourth full-time village manager in its 118-year history. He was recruited to replace Todd Hileman, who accepted a job in Denton, Texas after 12 years managing Glenview.

“I’m excited and appreciative of this opportunity," said Formica, who grew up in Grayslake, where he began his village administration career as an intern. Since 2008, he has been the village administrator of Lindenhurst. While in that position he managed to streamline operations and cut costs significantly, the village of Glenview said in an announcement of his hiring.

Glenview Village President Jim Patterson called Formica an "innovative manager who has the ability to challenge the status quo."
