Northbrook Man Charged In Crash That Killed Glenview Teen: Police
The 21-year-old faces 12 charges, including two counts of aggravated DUI causing death, in the crash that killed Marko Niketic.

GLENVIEW, IL — An arrest has been made in a crash that killed a Glenview teenager last weekend. Taeyoung Kim. 21, of the 3700 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, faces a number of charges stemming from a car crash Sunday night where Marko Niketic, 17, a Glenbrook South senior died from his injuries.
According to police, Kim is charged with the following:
- 2 counts of aggravated driving under the influence causing death
- reckless homicide
- aggravated DUI causing great bodily harm
- DUI alcohol
- DUI with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more
- DUI drugs
- speeding (35+mph)
- reckless driving
- driving without lights when required
- improper lane usage
- failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident
Kim is due in court Saturday for a conditions hearing.

Police said an investigation has revealed that at 11:08 p.m. May 12, Kim drove his vehicle westbound on East Lake Avenue at a high rate of speed and in a reckless manner. He struck Niketic's car near the intersection of East Lake Avenue and Meadow Lane.

The Glenview Police Department received assistance from the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force's Crash Assistance Team and the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
