GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
- A resident in the 4600 block of Larch Avenue called police at around 8:13 a.m. May 12 to report a dispute with a neighbor.
- The manager of a business in the 1700 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 10:35 a.m. May 17 the unauthorized access of a business phone line.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY

- A resident in the 1400 block of Brandon Road called police at around 7:24 a.m. May 12 to report someone entered the open garage and entered two unlocked vehicles inside. The reported loss is $2,250.
- A resident in the 2400 block of Sumac Circle reported at 5:34 p.m. May 13 someone entered the unlocked garage and stole a bicycle. The reported loss is $700.
- A resident in the 1900 block of Glen Oak Drive called police at around 8:37 a.m. May 15 to report someone, during the overnight hours, entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway, then utilized the garage door opener to gain access to another unlocked vehicle in the garage. Sunglasses, a purse and contents were taken. The reported loss $1,240.
- A resident in the 1000 block of Kings Lane reported at 7:53 a.m. May 18 that someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway overnight and used the garage door opener to access the garage and two additional vehicles. Phone accessories and the garage opener were taken. Total reported loss is $50.
DECEPTIVE PRACTICE
A resident of Larch Avenue called police at around 2:31 p.m. May 12 to report receiving a check for furniture being sold online. The check appeared fictitious and communication ceased from the buyer. There is no reported loss.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
A resident in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road reported at 3:40 p.m. May 12 receiving unwanted text messages.
THEFT
- A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 6:37 p.m. May 12 to report the theft of a wallet and glasses. The reported loss is 400.
- A resident in the 2400 block of Indigo Lane reported at 1:42 p.m. May 13 the theft of jewelry and other household items. The value of items was not given by resident.
- A resident in the 1000 block of Castilian Court called police at 6:03 p.m. May 15 to report four wheels and tires were stolen from a vehicle in the lot. The reported loss is $1500.
RETAIL THEFT
An employee in the 0-100 block of Waukegan Road reported at 2:04 p.m. May 13 two people filled a bag with bottles of alcohol and started walking out of the store. The employee confronted them, and they placed the bag on the floor and left the area. The value of the alcohol recovered is $211.
NEIGHBOR DISPUTE
A resident in the 3200 block of Milwaukee Avenue called police at 2 p.m. May 13 to report a dispute with a neighbor.
FRAUD
A Covert Road resident reported at 10:45 p.m. May 13 an online job posting which instructed the cashing of check sent and sending funds. The check was later determined to be fictitious. The reported loss $3,400.
INFO FOR POLICE
A Dunhill Circle resident called police at 12:58 p.m. May 14 to report receiving an email from someone requesting a bitcoin wire transfer or personal information would be sent out. The resident was advised this is a recurrent email scam. There is no reported loss.
UNLAWFUL USE OF CREDIT CARD
A person reported at 7:06 p.m. May 14 the unauthorized use of a credit card at a business located in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Ave. The reported loss is $546.56.
BATTERY
An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Bel Air Drive called police at 1:06 p.m. May 15 to report a battery.
BURGLARY TO AUTO
A resident in the 1400 block of Tuscany Court reported at 2:45 a.m. May 15 three males wearing hooded sweatshirts, face masks, and gloves entered two unlocked vehicles in the driveway. A garage door opener was taken. The reported loss is $30.
TRESPASSING
A resident in the 800 block of Central Road called police at 5:32 p.m. May 15 to report individuals rummaged through an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. There is no reported loss.
IDENTITY THEFT
A West Lake Avenue resident reported at 1 p.m. May 16 an unauthorized credit account opened with a $5,000 line of credit. There is no reported loss.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A citizen at Jackman Park, 1930 Prairie St., called police at 2:13 p.m. May 17 to report seeing a white male crouching inside the gazebo and noticed fresh graffiti painted on the concrete floor of the gazebo. Total reported damage is $100.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A resident in the 2000 block of Glenview Road reported at 4:43 p.m. May 17 two male individuals exited a vehicle and attempted to access the residence, claiming they were Village of Glenview employees and needed to check the water. The individuals were asked for identification and then left the area. The individuals were not Village of Glenview employees.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO MOTOR VEHICLE
- A resident in the 2300 block of Linneman Street called police at 2:07 a.m. May 18 to report someone entered an unlocked vehicle in the driveway. There is no reported loss.
- A resident in the 10o block of Harlem Avenue reported at 7:21 a.m. May 18 someone entered two unlocked vehicles while parked in the driveway sometime overnight. There is no reported loss.
FLEEING AND ELUDING POLICE
Glenview police officers observed at around 2:37 a.m. May 18 a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle involved in the reports of auto burglaries. The vehicle was observed in the area of Central Road and Shermer Road, and fled from officers as they attempted to stop the vehicle
ARRESTS
WARRANT ARREST
Keith Horvath, 43, of Chicago, was arrested at 10:20 p.m. May 15 by the Elgin Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant for failing to appear on a charge of retail theft occurring in Glenview. Bond on the warrant was set at $25,000. Horvath was turned over to custody of the Cook County Sheriff’s Corrections Officers to await bond hearing on May 16.
FORGERY
Detectives arrested Giovanni Natali, 31, of Skokie, at 11 p.m. May 14 after investigating fraudulent prescriptions passed at Walgreens, 1403 Waukegan Road and Skokie, using scripts and the name of Dr. Terry Hanusa, of Glenview. Natali charged with forgery and unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance and turned over to Cook County Sheriff’s Corrections Officers on May 16 to await a bond hearing.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
John S. Detrick, 45, of Chicago, was arrested at 9:07 p.m. May 19 and charged with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, illegal transportation of alcohol and driving under the influence at the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Sanders Road. He was released on a $3,000 bond and assigned a court date of June 4.
BATTERY
Joseph Z. Spandiary, 40, of Park Ridge, was arrested at 1 p.m. May 19 and charged with battery after an investigation into an altercation in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on a $1,000 bond and assigned a court date of July 27.
