GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. RETAIL THEFT

A 39-year-old Skokie resident is accused of retail theft, and was arrested at 2:15 a.m. Feb. 13. The arrest stemmed from an investigation into an incident on Jan. 23 at Jewel Osco, 2775 Pfingsten Road. She was released and assigned a court date of March 27.

INCIDENTS

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT

  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard reported at 7:51 p.m. Feb. 12, a co-worker threatened them and lunged at them during a union meeting.
  • An employee of a business in the 1400 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 7:52 p.m. Feb. 12, to report a co-worker yelled profanities and racial slurs at them during a union meeting. The victim felt as though they were going to be struck by the unknown person.

BURGLARY

  • A Wheeling resident reported that during the overnight hours of Feb. 13, someone stole a remote control from their vehicle while it was parked in the 1900 block of Pickwick Avenue.
  • A Gurnee resident called police to report that between 2:10 a.m. and 2:17 a.m. Feb. 13, someone jumped the gate and broke into 7 work trucks that were parked in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue. The offender removed 7 Western Plow Controls from the vehicles.

RETAIL THEFT

An employee of a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported that at 8:39 p.m. Feb. 10, two people removed numerous bottles of liquor before leaving the store without paying.

ATTEMPTED MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident of the 4100 block of Cove Lane called police to report that during the overnight hours of Feb. 13, someone broke out the rear passenger window of their vehicle. The offender removed the shroud to the steering column, and it appears the offender attempted to start the vehicle without a key.

THEFT

  • A Huber Lane resident reported at 12:47 p.m. Feb. 13, someone had made a series of unauthorized transactions from their bank account into another bank account they did not own. These transactions occurred on nine different occasions.
  • A Montgomery Lane resident called police at 2:58 p.m. Feb. 13, to report the registration sticker was removed from their vehicle by an unknown offender at an unknown location.
  • A Paddock Drive resident reported on Feb. 19 that in December 2023, someone made an unauthorized electronic payment from their business account in the amount of $12,293.75.

FORGERY

A resident in the 800 block of Glenwood Lane called police on Feb. 13 to report they had mailed a check on Dec. 27, 2023 to the IRS from the post office. The check was washed and written out to a trucking company. The check was cashed on Jan. 22 at an unknown bank.

THEFT OF LOST OR MISLAID PROPERTY

A business owner in the 2800 block of Old Willow Road reported at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 13, someone stole numerous items from the lost and found box inside the facility.

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A Wildberry Drive resident called police to report that between Feb. 12 and Feb. 13, they received several emails from banking institutions regarding unauthorized attempted transactions on their accounts.
  • A Harlem Avenue resident reported at 12:05 p.m. Feb. 15, receiving emails saying that an application for credit was initiated, and they needed to verify their identity. The resident did not apply for any credit.
  • A LIberty Lane resident called police at 9:53 a.m. Feb. 17, to report someone had opened an AT&T account using their personal information, accumulating an account balance of $367.77.
  • A Washington Street resident reported at 12:25 p.m. Feb. 18, someone opened a Verizon account in their name.

NO VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE

A Prospect Heights resident was charged at 8:28 p.m. Feb. 17, with no valid driver's license, speeding (15-20 mph over the speed limit), after a traffic stop at Central Road and Milwaukee Avenue. They were street booked and released, with a return court date of March 12.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident in the 3800 block of Glenview Road reported at 1:11 p.m. Feb. 18, three people came to their home and offered to fix a dent to their vehicle. The subjects asked for $700, which the resident refused to pay.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A Warren, Michigan resident reported that around 1:10 a.m. Feb. 18, their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
