The Salvation Army Golden Diners Soup, Soap and Salvation Fundraiser!

Since 1974, The Salvation Army Golden Diners Senior Nutrition program has been serving and delivering nutritious meals to area seniors. With more than 3,000 seniors participating and up to 170,000 meals served annually, the Golden Diners program continues to provide a critical service to the elderly in McHenry and Kane counties.

What

When the Salvation Army was founded in London more than 150 years ago, the organization was known for ministering in the streets to the most needy and destitute. The Salvation Army delivered three things: Soup, Soap and Salvation. The Salvation Army looks after a person’s immediate physical needs (soup), works to stabilize their life and focus on health and wellness (soap) and then demonstrate compassion and the love of God (salvation).
The Soup, Soap and Salvation fundraiser will benefit The Golden Diners program.

How
Supporters, residents and donors are encouraged to “drive up and stop by” their nearest participating Golden Diners location and grab a Salvation Army bagged lunch of hot soup, soap and the latest War Cry magazine for a $10 donation to The Golden Diners program. Participants can enjoy meeting local elected officials and Captain Shield, The Salvation Army mascot*!
