Supermarket Shoplifter Charged With 5 Felonies: Glenview PD Blotter
The arrest followed an investigation into five separate previous incidents at Jewel.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. AGGRAVATED UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A WEAPON

Raynesha Amiling, 30, of the 400 block of 4th Street, Rock Island, is accused of aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon (no conceal carry permit), possession of a concealed firearm while intoxicated, and was arrested at 1:56 a.m. March 30, during an investigation in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of March 31.

Kamila Burczyk, 35, of the Thorn Road, Bloomingdale, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence (third or subsequent time), DUI alcohol, DUI alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08, driving on a revoked license, expiration of registration, registration suspended for no insurance, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, violating a median on a divided highway, and was arrested at 8:48 p.m. March 25, following a traffic stop in the 5200 block of West Lake Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of March 26.
RETAIL THEFT
Leyva Eduardo Alcantar, 46, of the 800 block of Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, is accused of five counts of felony retail theft, and was arrested at 12:29 p.m. March 24, at the Highland Park Police Department for their own investigation. The arrest followed an investigation into five separate previous incidents at Jewel, 2502 Waukegan Road. He was released and assigned a court date of March 26.

INCIDENTS
BATTERY
A resident of the 3600 block of Lawson Road reported at 3:09 p.m. March 25, an acquaintance of their landlord punched them, causing them to fall into a table. They sought medical treatment for their injuries. Officers attempted to make contact with the person, but were unable to speak with them.
WARRANT
Police responded to the 1100 block of Depot Street at 2:10 p.m. March 26, for a disturbance from a passenger on a train that refused to pay their fare. The person showed an active warrant and was held until Metra Police arrived, where they were turned over to their custody.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
Glenview Public Work employees called police at 9:56 a.m. March 26, to report finding graffiti on the second level of the parking garage in the 2700 block of Sable Drive. Estimated damage was $750.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
- A Fontana Drive resident reported at 4:59 p.m. March 26, receiving a phone call from an unknown male who said they were an officer with the Border Patrol and that a package they ordered was intercepted due to it containing cocaine and fictitious identification cards. They did not provide any personal information, but advised the male confirmed their home address. They are monitoring their accounts and wanted the incident documented.
- Employees for a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road called police at 5:17 p.m. March 27, to report a male and female solicitor were outside the store, and they were asked to leave. The employees spoke with a customer who had been seen talking to the solicitors, advising they may have been scammed by the solicitors. The customer said they had been raising money for their son’s funeral and looked official, with flyers and lanyards showing ID. The customer offered them $20, but they said they could only take credit cards. They provided their credit card, and the pair also said they needed to use the customer’s phone for the transaction, which they provided. After a bit, the customer felt uncomfortable with the situation and asked for the items back. The pair were described as a male/black, approximately 20 years old, 5-foot-5, heavy set and dreads, and the second as a female/black, approximately 30 years old, taller than 5-foot-10, slender with dreads.
IDENTITY THEFT
A Corone Road resident reported at 5:41 p.m. March 26, someone had hacked their Facebook account two years ago and they created a new one. They were notified by a friend that someone was using their old account to sell items through Facebook Marketplace, such as cars and estate sale items. The information was given to Facebook and FTC notified.
CRIMINAL TRESPASS
Employees for a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road called police at 6:51 p.m. March 27, to report someone refused to leave the property. The person has caused numerous problems for
staff in the past, and they arranged transportation for them to leave. After speaking with officers,
the person agreed to take the transportation, leaving without further incident.
THEFT
A Chestnut Avenue resident reported at 8:40 a.m. March 29, someone was able to disable their computer after informing they were a suspect in a child pornography investigation. The person advised them to transfer $30,000 via Bitcoin ATM to clear their name. They complied with the instructions and transferred the money. They later realized it was a scam.
FOUND PROPERTY
An employee for a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 7:52 a.m. March 29, another employee had located a firearm inside a shopping cart. Officers recovered the firearm along with five rounds of ammunition from the shopping cart, which was left near the northeast entrance door. The serial number check came back with no record on file.
