Woman Killed After Being Struck In Highway Hit-And-Run Near Glenview

GLENVIEW, IL — A 31-year-old Des Plaines woman was killed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver early Saturday morning on Interstate 294 near Glenview. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at 1:09 a.m. at the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Illinois State Police said the incident at milepost 46.5 occurred at around 12:50 a.m. The woman was also hit by a second vehicle — a Fed-Ex truck tractor semi — which was still on scene when police arrived.

The driver that originally hit the woman with their white passenger vehicle, and had fled the scene, was eventually located and arrested.
