Would-Be Thieves Leave Full Cart At Exit: Glenview Police Blotter

Police said the two men filled the cart, proceeded toward the exit, but then stopped and left without incident.

Plamen Boyadzhiev, 32, of the 1700 block of Mill Street, Des Plaines, is accused of driving under the influence of drugs, improper lane usage, speeding, and was arrested at 5:07 p.m. July 15, following a traffic stop at Des Plaines River Road and Euclid Avenue. He was released on bond.

BATTERY

  • Ramon Nunez, 56, of the 2500 block of Linda Court, Glenview, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 8:01 a.m. July 10, following a dispute at the Glenview Police Department parking lot. Nunez was released on bond.
  • Terry Murphy, 60, of the 8600 block of Waukegan Road, Morton Grove, is accused of battery, and was arrested at 2:07 p.m. July 11. The arrest followed an investigation into a June 25 incident on Waukegan Road. He was released on bond.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

Jason Nast, 37, of the 13200 block of W. Heiden Circle, Lake Bluff, is accused of harassment by telephone, and was arrested at 5 p.m. July 11. The arrest followed an investigation into an incident that reportedly occurred on June 18 in the 3600 block of Glenview Road. Nast was released on bond.

INCIDENTS

IDENTITY THEFT

  • A George Court resident reported at 5:05 p.m. July 11, someone opened a credit card using their identifying information.
  • A Winchester Lane resident called police at 6:55 p.m. July 13, to report someone attempted to open a credit card using their identifying information.

BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE

  • A Wilmette resident called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 14, someone entered their unlocked vehicle and stole personal items while it was parked in the 1700 block of Grove Street.
  • A West Lake Avenue resident reported that between July 14 and July 15, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while the vehicle was parked in a lot in the 1800 block of Elmdale Avenue.
  • A resident in the 4700 block of West Lake Avenue called police to report that during the overnight hours of July 15, someone stole the catalytic converters from four work trucks, while the vehicles were parked in the parking lot.
  • A Downers Grove resident reported hat on July 15, someone stole the catalytic converter from under their work truck while the truck was parked in a parking lot in the 2900 block of West Lake Avenue.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported at 11:36 a.m. July 12, someone had stolen a motorcycle from the parking lot.

THEFT

An employee of a business in the 1700 block of Glenview Road called police at 4:46 p.m. July 12, to report someone stole jewelry from the store.

RETAIL THEFT ATTEMPT

An employee of a business int he 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 7:02 p.m. July 12, to report two unknown male subjects entered the store and filled a shopping cart with food items. The men proceeded toward the exit but stopped, left the shopping cart in the store and exited without any merchandise.

FORGERY

A Larkdale Avenue resident reported at 7:57 p.m. July 12, someone made three separate fraudulent withdrawals from their personal checking account.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

Police responded to a fire alarm at 9:41 p.m. July 12, at Cole Park, 1031 Kenilworth Lane. Upon arrival, they discovered an unknown offender set off fireworks in the restroom area. No permanent damage was observed.

SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE

A Skokie resident was cited at 1:49 p.m. July 17, for driving while license suspended, possessing a suspended driver's license, following a traffic stop in the 3200 block of East Lake Avenue.
