Americans For Prosperity - Illinois Launches Ads In Six Districts
AFP ad highlights Sen. Bush's Failure to Pass Property Tax Freeze
NAPERVILLE- In order to ensure that suburban voters are informed of the policy choices made by their state legislators in Springfield this year, Americans for Prosperity - Illinois is highlighting Senator Melinda Bush’s failure to deliver a property tax freeze for her constituents due to her own Senate majority’s unwillingness to call it for a vote.
“Many of the actions taken in Springfield by Senator Bush over the past year have not been in the best interest of taxpayers,” said Americans for Prosperity Illinois state director David From. “This effort is intended to show her constituents that despite her rhetoric, she is part of the majority in the Senate that is blocking a real property tax freeze from becoming law. Despite passing the House with a bi-partisan super-majority, Sen. Bush’s majority is preventing this badly needed reform. We hope his constituents will urge her to change course.”
The campaign is part of a larger effort to focus on the failure of our elected leaders to curb government over-spending by passing unbalanced budgets and promoting higher taxes, while also refusing to address the problem of ever-increasing property taxes that drain family budgets and dampen growth. The initial phase of the advocacy effort consists of an extensive digital ad campaign in Senator Bush’s district, reinforced with door-to-door effort and continued direct mail. Additional legislators will be added to the advocacy efforts in the coming month.

“We want to be sure that suburban residents know that, despite passing the House with a supermajority, the Illinois Senate Democrat majority is blocking a real property tax freeze from becoming law,” continued From. “Melinda Bush is part of the majority that is blocking this crucial relief for her constituents and has failed to speak up for the beleaguered taxpayers in her district.”
