Bush, Yingling, and Parents Join Local Student-Led March for Our Lives Rally

GRAYSLAKE, Ill. - On Saturday morning, state Sen. Melinda Bush, D-Grayslake, and state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, joined students and families from their districts to ride the Metra to the local “March for Our Lives” rally in Union Park in Chicago.

“The students who organized these marches across the country and here in Illinois are organized and committed to changing public policy to improve school and community safety,” Yingling said. “I am inspired by the recent activism being demonstrated by the students of my district and I remain committed to fighting on their behalf. Reasonable gun safety measures promote responsible gun ownership and keep our schools and communities safe.”

“These brave students are standing up and fighting for their lives, and their voices are being heard throughout Illinois,” said Bush. “While we are passing common-sense gun safety measures through the General Assembly, we are marching with our students to show our solidarity and remind them that their commitment can change the world.”
