Lake County 4-H Presents an International Festival
Every year, Lake County 4-H clubs choose countries to learn about and create in-depth displays to present to the public at an International Festival. We would like to invite the public to come out and experience 4-H clubs as they exhibit different countries from around the world. This year’s International Festival will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2017, from 2:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at the College of Lake County (19351 West Washington Street, Grayslake, Illinois; room A011). The admission will be one canned good per person, to be donated to a local food pantry.
A “Parade of Countries” will be presented, along with skits, crafts, games, and entertainment. A silent auction of culture-themed baskets (symbolizing the countries presented) will be held. A second auction of culture-themed items for children will also take place. Money raised from both auctions will go to the University of Illinois Extension Office, to assist with budgeting needs.

As you enter the festival area, you will be given a passport describing the journey you will take through the different countries. As you go through a country, you will learn some history, eat some food, complete an activity (such as a game or craft), and have your passport stamped. You then move on and learn about another country. Once all the countries in your passport have been stamped, you can turn it in to receive a small prize.
