Complete the State of Ilinois Budget

Today, Gov. Bruce Rauner formally asked to meet with the four legislative leaders this Monday to begin negotiations on a balanced budget with reforms. I’m encouraged by this development, and urge each of the legislative leaders to begin discussing critical issues such as pension reform. Now that we’re past the election, it’s time to come together and focus on crafting a bipartisan solution that will balance the budget and help local governments such as Round Lake Beach. The 6-month budget approved earlier this year expires in less than 2 months. We are all counting on our elected officials to get this done but “reforms” must be a part of the solution for the long term health of Illinois and our residents.
