Denikas continues to lead North Girls CC

Kimmy Denikas isn't afraid to mix it up with the top competition.

The Grayslake North runner displayed her mettle by finishing 10th in last week's Lake County Meet. Denikas completed the 3-mile course at Wauconda's Lakewood Forest Preserve in 20:05.

The Knights took 10th as a team with 229 points. The other North scorers were Jill Petracek (61st, 22:26), Kristen Salomon (76th, 22:53), Emmaly Schwartz (80th, 22:59) and Kaitlin Kearney (85th, 23:08).

The Rams also competed at Lake County, taking 11th as a team with 298 points. The Rams were led by Erika Garcia (39th, 21:21), Samantha Wong (42nd, 21:29) and Miranda Gomez (44th, 21:31).
