Foundation donates to Round Lake summer camps
The Butterfly Effect of Maddox J. LoPriore Foundation gave a donation to the Round Lake Area Park District
The Butterfly Effect of Maddox J. LoPriore Foundation presented the Round Lake Area Park District with a $1,500 donation at the park district board meeting on March 12.
The foundation was established to honor Maddox LoPriore, who tragically passed away at age 8 due to complications from diabetes. The foundation grants scholarships and giving donations to children in various schools, sports organizations, as well as businesses that help the community, by assisting those who might need financial help and/or exhibit the special qualities that made Maddox an amazing person.
“As you may know, Maddox loved going to summer camp,” Ralph LoPriore told the park district board members. “He loved the counselors, his ‘friends’ at camp, the daily activities and games, the field trips and pretty much everything he did there.”

Not only did Maddox attend the camp, but so did his three older brothers, A.J. , Zach, and Cooper. For almost 10 years, the Round Lake Area Park District summer camp made a positive impact on their family, Ralph said, from the preschool camp through Summer Trails and all the way to Teen Camp.
“This was especially meaningful his last year at camp when the program worked with us so that he could get the care he needed for his Type 1 diabetes,” Ralph said. “You will never know how much it all meant to us.”

The foundation wants to help give other families the opportunity to attend Round Lake Area Park District summer camp despite financial difficulties they might be experiencing, Ralph added.
