Lake Co. Voting Options: Last Day to Request Mail Ballot is Thursday

Ten early voting sites will remain open through Saturday and four sites will remain open through Monday.

County Clerk Carla N. Wyckoff reminds Lake County registered voters whose busy schedules or travel plans may prevent them from voting on Election Day are able to select a voting time and place that fits a hectic lifestyle.

Be a couch potato voter and vote by mail. Avoid the long lines at voting sites and vote from home. Illinois law requires a voter to complete an application form for each election.

Registered voters may visit LakeCountyClerk.info and click on the “Vote by Mail” icon. Web visitors can choose to complete an online version or download a printable form. Ballot request forms may also be acquired by e-mailing VotingByMail@lakecountyil.gov or calling 847.377.2406, according to a news release.

The last day to request a ballot by mail is Thursday, November 3. Voted ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s office with a postmark no later than midnight on Election Day. Those choosing to vote by mail can use the “Track My Ballot” option to confirm their voted ballot has been received by the Clerk’s office, according to a press release.

Early voting continues through Saturday, Nov. 5 at 10 of the early voting sites. An additional 4 sites will be open through Monday, Nov. 7 and offer weekend and evening hours. Recent changes in Illinois election law now allow voters to use any of the early voting sites regardless of where they live in Lake County.

Choose a site that’s close to home, work, or along the way. Visit LakeCountyClerk.info and click on the “November 8 Election” icon for early voting locations, dates, and hours.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 8 and assigned voting sites will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit LakeCountyClerk.info and click on the “November 8 Election” icon to find your assigned site, according to a news release.

Grace Registration is available at any early and assigned Election Day voting site. Voter must meet all age, citizenship, and residency requirements; provide two forms of valid identification; and vote at the time of registration. Both pieces of identification must show voter’s name, and one must show current Lake County address.
