League of Women Voters - Lake County Joins in National Voter Registration Day Sept 22

The League of Women Voters - Lake County registers to vote students at Grayslake North High School and Round Lake High School

The League of Women Voters of Lake County announces its participation in National Voter Registration Day (NVRD), a nationwide, non-partisan effort to register thousands of voters this fall on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. The League’s Deputy Registrars will assist eligible voters who want to register or update their registration.

Deputy Registrars from the League will be registering voters at two area high schools on Tuesday. The schools are Grayslake North High School from 10:40 am to 1:20 pm and at Round Lake High School from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Potential voters will need to provide identification. League members also can answer questions about registering and about voting in general.

National Voter Registration Day’s goal is to promote voter registration, and to encourage people to vote. More than 35,000 Americans have registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day since its inception in 2012. This year, NVRD has hundreds of events planned as the primaries and caucuses for the 2016 elections quickly approach.
