With super freshman Will Brewster leading the way, the Grayslake Central High School boys cross country team finished fourth at Tuesday's Fox Valley get-together at Johnsburg.

The meet brought together six conference teams, including: Cary-Grove, McHenry, Jacobs, Johnsburg and Grayslake North.

He's (Brewster) running well, making the adjustments to high school and coming along well."- Grayslake head coach Joel Peebles

Brewster was the team's top finisher, coming in 11th (16:37). It was another high school achievement for a runner who first made a name for himself on the AAU circuit.

"The scary thing is that he's just getting started. He's still just a little kid," Coach Peebles added. "He's had some soreness. But he's certainly trying to move towards his goals, running certain times. We're working our way toward those goals. The season is still young."

Central's Ryan Seiffert came in 16th (16:53) at the meet, Kevin Dickson was 17th (16:53.51), and Ryan Schapals 25th (17:30).

The Rams were coming off an eighth-place finish at Saturday's 20-team Blue Devil Invite in Gurnee. In that meet, Brewster finished 14th (16:24), Dickson 20th (16:46), Schapals 39th (17:18), Seiffert 43rd (17:25) and Kyle Rehberg 77th (18:17).

Schapals, Seiffert and Rehberg all ran their best times of the season.
