State Sen. Bush: We need solutions, not politics, in 2016

State Sen. Melinda Bush, D-Grayslake, responds to Gov. Rauner's 2016 State of the State address.

SPRINGFIELD — State Sen. Melinda Bush, D-Grayslake, issued the following statement in response to Gov. Bruce Rauner’s State of the State address Wednesday.

“The problem this past year has not been with the governor’s initiatives, but with his actions,” Bush said. “After a year that pulled the rug out from under seniors, children and the needy, I hope his call for cooperation is real. It is time for Illinois to move past partisan bickering.”

Although Gov. Bruce Rauner used his annual State of the State address to slam organized labor and call for union restrictions, he also signaled that he hopes to move forward on a pension plan in concert with Senate President John Cullerton, D-Chicago.
