An opportunity to work with 4-H Youth in Lake County

The 4-H program is a community of youth ages 8-18 supervised by the University of Illinois Extension. Every year the 4-H members prepare projects to be judged by adult volunteers knowledgeable in specific 4-H project areas. In the past, we have held two day judging for Visual Arts and General Projects, however this year we will be holding both judging areas on one day Saturday, July 22, 2017.
The program is always in need of judges to help 4-H members master their learning by doing. We are seeking volunteers to judge on Saturday, July 22 (Visual Arts & General Projects.) We will hold a Judges Training session on Wednesday, July 12 at the University of Illinois Extension 100 South Highway 45 at 6:30p.m. Judges will be given materials to reference at this time to assist in making sure youth and judges have a great experience.
The project areas include: visual arts (clay, wood, chalk/carbon/pigment, glass/plastic, metal and nature), intercultural, interior design, clothing and textiles, citizenship, animal science, child development, fashion revue, food and nutrition, health, personal development, leadership, photography, public speaking, theatre arts, aerospace including rocketry, computer science, electricity, robotics, small engines, woodworking, entomology, forestry, plants and soils, and horticulture.
