USAGAIN PRESENTS LUKE 3:11 SHARE CENTER WITH RECYCLING AWARD
Leading Textile Recycler Recognizes Lake Villa Sharing Center for Green Leadership
Luke 3:11 Share Center, based in Lake Villa, won top honors from local clothing recycler, USAgain, for “Excellence in Spreading Green Awareness.”
During the 2015 Green-T Award Ceremony, held at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, USAgain recognized the facility for its efforts in spreading clothing recycling awareness. The Luke 3:11 Share Center works in conjunction with the Northern Illinois Food Bank (NIFB) and partnering organizations to provide food, clothing, and basic hygienic products to those in need. The organization serves as a role model for groups looking to raise funds to support their community initiatives while positively affecting the environment.
“USAgain is proud to present Luke 3:11 with an award for their passionate commitment to the community and the environment,” said USAgain CEO Mattias Wallander. “We’re always looking for strong partnerships and we’ve been impressed by their ability to spread the message of clothing recycling. The work we do day in and day out is already a rewarding endeavor, but we truly enjoy partnering with and supporting local organizations whose actions make the world a better place.”

Michele Holmes, Executive Director of the share center noted, “Our partnership with USAgain is really a reflection of the ‘sharing’ mentality we foster at our center. We encourage everyone who participates in our services to look at how they can share with others in our local community. Spreading the message of environmental awareness is another way we can come together to help each other and the planet.”
The Green-T Awards reward individuals and organizations that support recycling and sustainability in Illinois. USAgain believes that recognizing the efforts of green leadership encourages environmental stewardship at all levels. In partnerships with cities, local businesses and non-profit organizations – including schools, churches, fire stations, humane societies and youth groups – USAgain hosts 1,100 recycling bins in the Chicagoland area that diverted seven million pounds of textiles from going into landfills in 2014 alone.
