Wanted Man Found Hiding In Attic Under Insulation

He was wanted for domestic battery, aggravated battery and DUI, according to police.

ROUND LAKE BEACH, IL — A Round Lake Beach man with a warrant for his arrest was found Tuesday, Dec. 5, in the attic of his Pheasant Court home, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Dustin Serna, 31, of the 500 block of Pheasant Court, had two warrants for his arrest: one for failure to appear on prior domestic battery and a DUI cases, and another for aggravated battery. Combined, the two warrants held a $115,000 bond.

The Lake County Sheriff's Office Warrants Team and the U.S. Marshals Service made the arrest. Investigators "developed information indicating Serna was inside of his residence," Tuesday, they entered Serna's home. With the help of Lake County Sheriff's K-9 Duke, the found Serna in the attic hiding under insulation, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

He was arrested without incident and taken to the Round Lake Beach Police Department, to be transported to the Lake County Jail where he's being held on $75,000 bond. He's in court Thursday at 9 a.m.
