Women's Residential Services Celebrates 30th Anniversary, April 16
Stories from WRS alumni, a facility tour and presentations by leaders are part of the event.

The Women’s Residential Services (WRS) program of the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center is celebrating its 30th anniversary Saturday, April 16th from 2-5 pm. WRS was established in 1986 through funding from the Illinois Department of Human Services’ Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse and has provided services to 2,395 women and 1,204 children since its inception.
The celebration on April 16th will be at 24647 N. Milwaukee Avenue in Vernon Hills. The event includes a facility tour, presentation by organization leaders, stories by WRS alumni and light snacks. The presentation will begin at 2:30 p.m.

About WRS:
WRS is a Dual Diagnosis Capable (DDC) residential treatment program for chemically dependent women and their children. Priority is given to pregnant and parenting women and intravenous drug using women. Individualized treatment focuses on developing a chemical-free lifestyle through building recovery and resiliency skills, and improving parenting skills. Originally located on the top floor of Winchester House on Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville, it moved to its present location in 1997.
