GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is reminding residents about his upcoming free, annual document shred day event and announcing several more events to be held throughout the summer.

“While the legislature has been in session almost every day of May, including the weekends, I am excited to be home in our district and to offer residents a series of free, helpful seminars and events throughout the summer,” Yingling said. “These events help me to be more accessible to the people I serve and helps me better understand local concerns while also providing families helpful and educational opportunities to learn about issue and services our office provides.”

Yingling’s summer events will kick off Saturday, June 11 with his Free Annual Document Shred Event held at Grayslake North High School from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The Grayslake Police Department will also be on hand to collect and safely dispose of used, old and unwanted prescription drugs. Due to biohazard risk, syringes will not be accepted but can be securely dropped off at local police departments.

· On Saturday, June 18, Yingling will be hosting his signature Coffee Shop Stops from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Something’s Brewing located at 1126 E. Washington St., in Grayslake.

· Yingling will be partnering with the Alzheimer’s Association to offer a free seminar on recognizing the signs of Alzheimer’s on Tuesday, June 21 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Fremont Township Center Building, located at 22385 W. IL Rte. 60 in Mundelein.

· He will be teaming up with the Round Lake Area Park District to offer seniors a free tech seminar on Tuesday, July 12 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Park District’s Senior Recreation Center.

All of Yingling’s events are free and open to the public. RSVP’s are not necessary, but they are appreciated. Additional announcements will be made as each event draws nearer. For more information, please call Yingling’s full time constituent service office at (847)-231-6262.

Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
