GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is teaming with Attorney General Lisa Madigan’s office for a free identity theft and fraud prevention seminar.
“Sadly, criminals utilize many innovative and misleading means to scam and defraud honest people, and they often target seniors,” said Yingling. “The best way to combat these predators is to make as many people as possible aware of these scams and to provide them with useful information and resources to help protect themselves and loved ones, which this seminar will do..”
Yingling’s event is free and open to the public, and it will update the community on the top ten consumer complaints and common financial scams directed at seniors and consumers in surrounding communities. A representative from the Attorney General’s office will also offer tips to avoid falling victim to these cons. The event will be held in the Community Room of the Round Lake Police Department on Saturday, May 14 from 11:00 a.m. -12:30 p.m. The police department is located at 741 W. Town line Rd., in Round Lake. Local residents who are interested in attending can RSVP by contacting Yingling’s district office by phone at 847-231-6262 or by email at RepSamYingling@gmail.com.
Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Gurnee, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
