GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – To help ensure that residents receive their income tax refunds in a timely manner, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is encouraging taxpayers to sign up for income tax refund alerts by visiting the Illinois Comptroller’s new website at www.myrefund.illinoissomptroller.com.

“As our state continues to bounce back from one of the worst economic downturns in history, it’s critical that working families receive their tax refunds as quickly as possible.” Yingling said. “The Comptroller’s website is an easily accessible way to help reassure people about the current status of their refund.”

Residents are encouraged to visit www.myrefund.illinoiscomptroller.com to check on the status of their individual Illinois income tax refunds. This convenient website allows taxpayers to see if their payments have been processed by the Comptroller’s office and also provides important web resources to show residents the history of their refund payments.

“This useful website can help families plan ahead and ensure they have enough resources to pay critical household expenses from utility bills to groceries,” Yingling continued. “They will be directly notified through this new program that aims to increase state transparency and accountability for Illinois taxpayers; instead of guessing when their check is in the mail or which day they will receive their refund.”
