GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – Residents of western Lake County are encouraged to stop by state Rep. Sam Yingling’s free, annual document shred event this June 11 at Grayslake North High School from 10 a.m. until noon. Yingling will be joined by the Grayslake Police Department who will also be collecting any and all used, old, and outdated prescription drugs.
“This event can help provide peace of mind to families and seniors who would normally consider throwing away paperwork containing personal information out with their weekly garbage collection. I'm excited to offer this free service that they can utilize over a weekend,” Yingling said. “Additionally, by teaming with the local police to accept prescription drugs, we can all play a part in keeping dangerous substances out of the wrong hands.”
Yingling’s Annual Document Shred event is free to the public, and will be held at Grayslake North High School’s main parking lot located 1925 N. Route 83 in Round Lake Beach. Residents will be able to drop off up to two boxes of personal paperwork to be shredded. They will also be able to have any amount of their old prescription drugs safely and securely collected by the local police. The event will run from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, June 11. Shredding services will be available on first come, first served basis and may end earlier than planned if the shred truck reaches capacity.
Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
