Yingling Hosts Budgeting and Fraud Prevention Event

Yingling and Comptroller Mendoza Office team up to provide Fraud Awareness and Budgeting Event

ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – State Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is teaming up with financial experts from Illinois Comptroller Susana Mendoza’s office to offer a free, bilingual seminar on household budgeting and fraud prevention on Wednesday, March 28 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Round Lake Area Park District’s Robert Rolek Community Center East Multi-Purpose room at 814 Hart Rd. in Round Lake.

“Now more than ever, consumers need to be aware of the scams being committed on a daily basis,” Yingling said. “I’m offering this workshop to give my constituents the tools needed to better understand successful ways to manage and protect their hard earned money and livelihoods. This particular event may help shield a family from potential financial ruin at the hands of merciless cyber criminals and scam artists.”

Staff members from the comptroller’s office will offer a presentation on household budgeting and preventing identity theft. Attendees will learn how to identify and prevent common financial scams, and have an opportunity to ask questions about credit, loans, mortgages and best practices for paying off debt. The event will touch upon understanding and accessing one’s credit score. To RSVP for this free event or for more information, please contact Rep. Yingling’s constituent service office at 847-231-6262.
