GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – This December, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D- Grayslake, is inviting area resident to join him at a local coffee shop to discuss their thoughts on state and local issues over warm drinks.
“The budget impasse is doing irreparable damage to our communities, and as 2015 comes to a close, I need to know how the residents in my district are doing,” Yingling said. “This coffee shop stop is an opportunity for me to meet those I haven’t been able to connect with during my other outreach activities, and the informal atmosphere allows me to personally address any questions or concerns they may have.”
This year, Yingling has voted repeatedly to freeze property taxes, backed legislative efforts to support veterans and worked hard to create employment opportunities for the residents in his district. Yingling has remained steadfast in his commitment to creating a well-balanced budget, and has fought against the Governor’s cuts to essential services for children and the elderly.
“I want the residents in my district to know that I am doing everything in my power to bring this budget impasse to an end,” Yingling said. “That being said, I can only help if I am well aware of everything that is going on. The challenges facing Illinois can be scary and confusing, and that is why I would encourage anyone with questions, thoughts or concerns to join me.”
Yingling’s Coffee Shop Stop will take place on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 am to 11 am at Something’s Brewing, located at 1126 E Washington St., Grayslake. The event is free and open to the public. For more information on this event, please contact Yingling’s constituent service office at (847) 231 6262.
