ROUND LAKE BEACH, Ill. – Grayslake resident Charlotte Roberts, Miss Lake County Queen 2016, met with state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, in his constituent service office last week to advocate for the passage of a state budget.
“It is always inspiring to see young adults take an active role in the legislative process,” Yingling said. “Charlotte and her mother visited with me to share their concerns about the passage of a state budget that helps fund agriculture programs and other important local tourism events such as our county fair. Tuesday’s meeting helps amplify the urgent need to pass a responsible budget.”
While the governor refuses to negotiate in good faith to pass a responsible budget, programs that promote tourism and generate revenue for Lake County continue to be in jeopardy. Charlotte Roberts and her mother, Cathy, met with Yingling to advocate on behalf of programs such as the 4H Club, the Lake County Fair, and Miss Lake County.
