GRAYSLAKE, Ill. – On Tuesday, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D – Grayslake, met with College of Lake County (CLC) students to discuss his support for funding community colleges and Monetary Award Program (MAP) for needy students.

“Now more than ever, it is critical for me to meet and hear from local college students,” Yingling said. “The state’s ongoing budget impasse has hurt college students and our higher education institutions. Unfortunately, the governor has continued to hold the budget hostage and vetoed a critical funding measure that would have funded the MAP grants and community colleges. This visit helped spotlight the need to fund critical items like MAP grants, and I appreciate the students for their activism and pointed questions.”

Yingling represents the 62nd District, which contains portions of Gages Lake, Grayslake, Hainesville, the Round Lake communities, Wauconda and Wildwood.
