2 Charged With Domestic Violence: Highland Park Crimes

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. SHOPLIFTING
Around 11:36 a..m. on Jan. 2, someone stole baby formula and diapers from a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road.

THEFT OF MISLAID PROPERTY
A purse was accidentally left in a shopping cart in the parking lot of a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road around 1:35 p.m. on Jan. 2. When its owner returned to the business to retrieve the purse, a cell phone, 2 wallets and credit cards were found missing from the purse, police were told.
THEFT
A Judith Levier purse was reported as missing from a residence in the 800 block of Stone Gate Drive on the afternoon of Jan. 2, but it was not immediately known when when the purse was last seen.
HOME BURGLARY
Someone smashed through a sliding glass door in the back of a home in the 1800 block of Rosemary Road sometime between Dec. 22, 2017 and Jan. 2, 2018, and stole multiple pieces of jewelry, police were told.
SHOPLIFTING
Someone stole two 750 ml bottles of cognac from a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road, police were told 3:40 p.m. on Jan. 7.
ARRESTS
Donavan Collins, 23, of the 1400 block of 12th Street, Waukegan, was arrested at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 2 and charged with two counts of domestic battery when police responded to a report of an altercation between two people inside a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.
Jose Gonzalez, 39, of the 1600 block of McGovern Street, Highland Park, was arrested at 12:15 a.m. on Jan. 6 and charged with attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery and two counts of domestic battery after police were called to a report that someone had stabbed their wife. » More: Highland Park Man Who Stabbed Woman Charged: Police
A 34-year-old Glencoe man was arrested at 11:28 p.m. on Jan. 6 and charged with speeding more than 35 mph over the limit after he was pulled over in the 200 block of the Edens Expressway.
