HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident reported around 5:15 p.m. on April 19 that someone had done an unspecified amount of damage by scratching their vehicle while it was parked in the 1200 block of Park Avenue.

HOME BURGLARY
Someone broke into a home in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive sometime before 8:30 p.m. on April 20. There were signs of forced entry and multiple pieces of jewelry were reported stolen for an unspecified loss.

ARRESTS

Modesto Borges Melendez, 54, of the 3100 block of N. Austin Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on April 18 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Clavey Road. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.

Austin Pierce, 32, of the 900 block of Dorset Court, Wheeling, was arrested at 9:19 p.m. on April 19 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs after police were called to the 1400 block of Park Avenue for a report of a suspicious person.

Emmanuel Arrellanes-Narvaez, 25, of the 300 block of Washington Street, Highwood, was arrested at 2:08 p.m. on April 20 and charged with possession of a controlled substance after police were called to the for a report of suspicious people in the first block of Grant Street.

[Redacted], 26, of Highland Park, was arrested around 7:15 p.m. on April 20 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop at the intersection of Skokie Valley Road and Central Avenue. He was also issued a citation for failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.
