Burglar Arrested After Officers Alerted To Car Alarm: HP Blotter
Four landscaping trailers burglarized and a shoplifter with drug paraphernalia ordered jailed: Highland Park-Highwood blotter, June 10–16

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
THEFTS/SHOPLIFTING

- Cash and credit cards were stolen on the afternoon of June 9 from a locked locker at an unspecified location in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road.
- An employee at an unspecified business in the 1500 block of Clavey Road reported that someone stole cosmetics at some point on June 10.
- Someone pried open a lock on a locker between 5 and 6:10 a.m. at an unspecified location in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road, police were told. Nothing was stolen from the locker, but the resident later discovered cash was stolen from their wallet and their car left unlocked.
CAR/TRAILER BURGLARIES
- Someone stole two electric hammers and a concrete saw from a work trailer parked in the first block of Ravinoaks Lane prior to 3:15 p.m. on June 11.
- Someone broke into a landscaping trailer in the 1400 block of Linden Avenue and stole two brick saws at some point prior to 4 p.m. on June 11.
- A resident in the 600 block of Pleasant Avenue reported on the morning of June 13 that someone had burglarized an unlocked car parked in a driveway, stealing a pair of garage door openers, cash, an owner's manual, registration and insurance cards.
- A leaf blower was stolen from a landscape trailer in the 800 block of Kimball Road at some point before 10:40 a.m. on June 14.
- Someone stole two leaf blowers and a tree trimmer from inside an unlocked landscaped trailer parked in the first block of Skokie Valley Road prior to 11 a.m. on June 14.
STOLEN CAR
Someone stole a white Mercedes from a parking lot in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road between 6:15 and 7:30 p.m. on June 14. The keys had been left inside, along with two suitcases filled with gifts, a checkbook, a cell phone and various other property.

ARRESTS
Francisco Hammond, 22, of the 400 block of East Chicago Avenue, Naperville, was arrested around 11:15 a.m. on June 10 and charged with two counts of burglary from a motor vehicle after officers responded to a call about a car alarm going off in the 1000 block of Half Day Road. He was ordered held in lieu of the $2,000 cash portion of his bond, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which lists him as a resident of Milwaukee.
Michael Courtney, 30, of the 100 block of North Sangamon Street, Chicago, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. on June 13 and charged with two counts of felony retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia after police were called to a business in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road for a report of shoplifting. He has been jailed in lieu of the $2,500 cash portion of his bond, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which lists him as a resident of Libertyville.
Charles Blomberg, 58, of the 2800 block of Wilmette Avenue, Wilmette, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. on June 14 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater and issued citations for improper lane usage and an improper turn following a traffic stop in the 2400 block of Skokie Valley Highway.
Rama Yetukuri, 31, of the 1600 block of Whitehall Court, Wheeling, was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. on June 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Lake Cook Road. He was also ticketed for speeding.
Patricia Baker, 30, of the 35300 block of North Juniper, Gurnee, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. on June 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or greater following a traffic stop in the 1700 block of Deerfield Road. She was also issued citations for speeding and improper lane usage.
Ray Krause, 37, of the 300 block of Green Bay Road, Highwood, was arrested around 10 p.m. on June 17 outside his home and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer. Read more...
