Cop Battered in Downtown HP: Cops

Skokie Valley Road speeder charged with DUI.

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

RETAIL THEFT

Amanda C. Chavez, 18, Skokie was arrested and charged with local retail theft after police responded to a complaint from a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road at 10:48 p.m. on Feb. 17.

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Melissa Ann Edelman, 48, of the 200 block of Central Avenue was arrested for domestic battery, violation of bail bond and unlawful interference with the reporting of domestic violence after police responded to a complaint in the 200 block of Central Avenue at 5:48 p.m. on Feb. 18.

DUI

Amber S. Arnold, 30, Round Lake Beach was arrested and charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol and speeding 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road at 3:55 a.m. on Feb. 20.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY TO A POLICE OFFICER

Lawrence T. Weiss, 54, of the 600 block of Park Avenue West was arrested and charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and obstructing a peace officer after police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Park Avenue West at 12:11 p.m. on Feb. 21.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

On Feb. 16, it was reported that an unknown female subject intentionally damaged the complaint’s vehicle in the 1500 block of County Line Road.

THEFT

On Feb. 18, it was reported that an unknown subject(s) stole US currency from a business in the 2500 block of Skokie Valley Road.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On Feb. 19, it was reported that a car port door that was locked the night before was found open in the morning and the complainant is not sure if anything has been taken. The incident took place in the 300 block of Sheridan Road.

BATTERY

On Feb. 20, it was reported that a female subject intentionally pushed the complainant in the 1500 block of Berkeley Road.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

On Feb. 20, it was reported that two male subjects intentionally trespassed on a property in the 800 block of Edgewood Road.

THEFT

On Feb. 20, it was reported that an unknown female subject stole car keys from the complainant from a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road.
