David Axelrod Will Give Lake Forest College Commencement Speech
The man behind President Obama's presidential campaigns also will be given an honorary degree by the school.
David Axelrod, the strategist behind both of President Barack Obama's presidential campaigns, will be Lake Forest College's 2016 graduation speaker.

The school's 138th commencement ceremony is set for May 7 at Ravinia Festival Park in Highland Park, according to a college press release.

Axelrod was the architect of Obama's winning presidential runs in 2008 and 2012. He also served as a senior presidential adviser in the Obama White House until 2011. Currently, Axelrod is director of the Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago, his alma mater, and a senior political commentator on CNN.

The college will present Axelrod with an honorary degree at the ceremony. Other honorary degrees will be given to former Chicago Tribune journalist Dawn Turner and lawyer Randy Lamm Berlin, a 1975 Lake Forest graduate who also is a lecturer at the University of Chicago Law School and a humanities advocate.
