HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

After a purse was accidentally left on a chair outside of a business in the 1800 block of St. Johns Avenue on the afternoon of Oct. 4, an unknown person turned in the purse to a nearby business, but a wallet containing a driver’s license, credit cards and currency were reported missing.
CAR BURGLARY

Sometime during the overnight hours of Oct. 3-4, someone entered an unlocked Nissan while parked in the 500 block of Sumac Road. The only item reported missing was a credit card was the only item reported missing.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
On Oct. 6, sometime between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., someone broke into a residence in the 600 block of Laurel Avenue and stole several pieces of jewelry and silverware were reported missing.
ARRESTS/CITATIONS
WARRANT
Leonard D. Brown, 57, of the 1000 block of Grove Street, Evanston, was arrested on a Cook County contempt of court warrant after being stopped by police in the 400 block of the Edens Expressway in a vehicle with an expired registration on Oct. 9 at 12:31 a.m.
