DESIGN PARTNERS HOLDS GRAND OPENING EVENTS

The City of Highwood and the Highwood Chamber of Commerce are proud to welcome Design Partners to the community as owner, Doreen Avila and her team, bring home décor ideas to life in Highwood. Specializing in design consultations and home décor, ranging from window treatments and upholstery to painted furniture ‘statement’ pieces, Design Partners is also the exclusive North Shore retailer for the popular Annie Sloan’s Chalk Paint®.

On Thursday, April 30th at 4pm, the public is invited to join Highwood Mayor Pecaro, Chamber President, Jennifer Zanotti-Ori, and other members of the City and Chamber during their Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The celebration will continue into the evening as Avila hosts free, hands-on Chalk Paint® tutorials and treats. Design Partners will also be offering 10% off in store purchases and a chance to enter to win a gift certificate for design services. To add to the fun, Design Partners Grand Opening will coincide with Highwood’s Girls Night Out.

The two-story interior design studio is extremely beautiful, providing the perfect atmosphere to dream, create and explore. “I believe in options,” says Avila, “I want my customers to be able to come in and see something they love for every mood, room, and part of their home.”

Avila also wants her clients to have fun, offering Chalk Paint® workshops, where people can learn decorative painting techniques as a simple way to update an old piece of furniture or home accessory. “I always recommend incorporating a piece of painted furniture into a home to add color, create a focal point, or make a room more cohesive,” says Avila.

Design Partners regularly use Chalk Paint® for kitchen cabinet makeovers, or for painting vintage furniture to give it a face lift. Chalk Paint® is the original decorative paint by Annie Sloan where you do not need to sand or strip your furniture first. It is an extremely versatile paint and Design Partners uses it to their full advantage when designing for their clients.

Avila boasts over 20 years experience in interior design, and is a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to decorating a home, office, or any space. As previous owner of an upholstery and drapery shop in Glenview, Avila says her relocation to Highwood was one of the best decisions she’s made. “I love Highwood’s eclectic community, with so many artistic and unique personalities. Everyone really believes in what they’re doing, that’s what makes it such a great City to have a business in.”
