District 112 Board Meeting Cancelled
In the midst of heated debate on referendum, a lack of a quorum meant no meeting for the District 112 board of education Tuesday night.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL - The North Shore School District 112 board of education meeting scheduled for Tuesday was cancelled due to a lack of a quorum.
The district announced the cancellation on Twitter shortly after the scheduled meeting start time.
Talk in the community lately has centered around the district and the merits of a $198 million referendum on the ballot March 15. Placed on the ballot last year by the board, the referendum plan is for a reconfiguration of the district that will close some schools and create a middle school campus for all fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth graders at the current site of Red Oak and Sherwood schools.
In the district’s plan, the middle school campus would include separate corridors for fifth/sixth graders and seventh/eighth graders.
Over the last month, Patch has received more than a dozen letters to the editor on the subject.
The board’s next scheduled meeting is for next Tuesday, Feb. 9.
