District 113 Board Candidates Square Off
Seven spots for four openings on board that covers Highland Park, Deerfield high schools.
Seven candidates for four spots on the Township High School District 113 board of education had differing thoughts on the search for a new superintendent and other issues pertinent to the District at the only organized candidate debate prior to the April 7 election.
Incumbents Debra Hymen and David Small along with challengers Michelle Culver, David Greenberg, William Kerstein, Alena Kolman-Laube and George Spathis all had different opinions on whether the search firm used to hire Dr. Laurie Kimbrel - the district’s chosen superintendent before she asked to opt out of her contract - should be used in the search for the next George Fornero replacement.
