Donald Trump 'Too Bigoted and Racist' for Illinois: Sen. Mark Kirk
The GOP senator says he'll write in ex-CIA Director David Petreaus for president.

U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk (R-IL) continues to withdraw support for Donald Trump, calling the presumptive Republican presidential candidate "too bigoted and racist" for Illinois during a WLS-AM (890) interview Thursday, according to audio posted by Buzzfeed.
Kirk made those comments while talking with "Big" John Howell. When asked by Howell if he thought Hillary Clinton would be a better president, Kirk rejected that idea while reinforcing his lack of support for Trump.

"I do not support Hillary Clinton, and I told the public I did not support Donald Trump, either," Kirk said. "I think he's too bigoted and racist for the Land of Lincoln."
Who will Kirk vote for then? He said he supported former CIA Director David Petraeus.

"I think if he would announce, he would just light up the political spectrum," Kirk said.

This was the second instance this month of Kirk publicly criticizing Trump. Earlier, Kirk—who is up for re-election in November against Democratic Rep. Tammy Duckworth—released a statement withdrawing his support of a Trump presidential candidacy.
"While I oppose the Democratic nominee, Donald Trump's latest statements, in context with past attacks on Hispanics, women and the disabled like me, make it certain that I cannot and will not support my party's nominee for president regardless of the political impact on my candidacy or the Republican Party," he said.
