Creating an American Judaism: The History of Reform Judaism in America

The Reform movement in America has gone through a lot of changes since its inception in the 1800s. In this four-week course, you will look at the development of a uniquely American Jewish movement. The class will pay special attention to the four statements of principles that the Reform movement has created from 1885 to 1999.
