Felony Charges For Man Walking Away From Running Vehicle: Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park Police Department as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Readers are reminded than an arrest is not an indication of guilt, and criminal charges, which are often dropped or reduced, represent merely accusations by the state. All persons named are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
Someone stole "numerous items" from an unspecified business in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road, police were told around 11:30 a.m. on Feb. 19.

THEFT
A package delivered to a home in the 600 block of Elm Place was reported stolen at 3:36 p.m. on Feb. 19 after having been possibly left in a vestibule.
THEFT
On the morning of Feb. 21, a resident in the 600 block of Elm Place reported that three packages packages had been either opened or taken after having been delivered to a home.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 700 block of North Avenue reported that someone threw a rock at their front door around 4:29 p.m. and chipped some paint off a door.
THEFT
Someone stole a gray coat, a black sweater, a debit card, ID cards, keys and cash from a locked locker at a business in the 100 block of Skokie Valley Road between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 22.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Someone smashed open the front door of a business in the 800 block of Central Avenue and stole two cash drawers containing an unknown amount of cash, police were told on the morning of Feb. 23.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Someone kicked open a hole in the drywall in the men's restroom of a park in the 1300 block of Clavey Road. The restroom had been left unlocked and it is not known when the damage occurred prior to its discovery on the morning of Feb. 23.
RETAIL THEFT
Someone walked into a business in the 2000 block of Skokie Valley Road and stole two Apple iPhones from display stand, police were told on the evening of Feb. 24.
ARRESTS
A 28-year-old Park City man was arrested at 3:44 p.m. on Feb. 21 and charged with driving while license revoked and speeding following a traffic stop near Ridge Road and Reserve Court.
A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 12:22 a.m. on Feb. 22 and charged with driving while license revoked, and issued citations for improper lane usage, driving with an uninsured motor vehicle and possession of cannabis following a traffic stop near the intersection of Skokie Valley and Half Day roads.
An 18-year-old Highland Park woman was arrested at 4:01 p.m. on Feb. 22 and charged with battery following a dispute in the 400 block of Vine Avenue.
A 37-year-old North Chicago man was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. on Feb. 23 and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving while license revoked, driving while license revoked for the seventh time, possession of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis and driving under the influence of drugs after police said he was found walking away from a vehicle left running in the 400 block of Skokie Valley Road.
A 49-year-old Highland Park man was arrested at 3:03 a.m. on Feb. 24 and charged with aggravated battery and two counts of domestic battery after police were called to a report of a dispute. Prosecutors dropped charges on Oct. 20.
