Freedom Home Care Celebrates 20 Years in Business
With a focus on giving clients the 'freedom' to live happy and healthy at home
HIGHLAND PARK, IL (DECEMBER 2016) – After working in the rehabilitation industry with senior citizens her entire career, Highland Park resident Sharon Burack saw the need to have seniors, and others with medical needs, live happy and healthy lives in the comfort of their own homes. She didn’t realize she tapped into an untouched and much needed industry, when she started offering home care services to this ever-growing aging population. Now, as founder of Highland Park-based Freedom Home Care, she is proud to be celebrating her company’s 20th anniversary servicing the North Shore and greater Chicagoland marketplace.
“There was no one servicing the needs of seniors in their own homes, so I created a program to transition them into a happy and healthy lifestyle in the comfort of their on homes,” states Burack, who opened the Claremont Living and Rehab Center in 1995 and began offering home care services to those leaving the facility. “Not only was I one the first to offer home care to seniors in the Chicago market, but I had decades of experience from both the clinical and business sides, which has been lacking in home care.”
From their humble beginnings from their first location in Highland Park, Freedom Home Care has grown over the past 20 years to servicing clients up and down Chicago’s lakeshore, throughout Cook and Lake Counties, from Hinsdale to Barrington and Buffalo Grove and all the towns in between. With more than 1,000 professional and compassionate caregivers, Freedom Home Care is proud to be recognized as one of the top home care companies in the greater Chicagoland market.

“We are just thrilled to be able to reflect on our past 20 year history and still be working with generations of family members,” says Burack. “That is testimony itself to give everyone at Freedom a sense of pride for the great care and services we offer our clients.”
As Freedom Home Care embarks on its 20th Anniversary, Burack is proud to be taking the Company to the next level. Plans call for three new locations to open in 2017, including the first to open doors January 2017 in Lake Forest, at 289 East Deerpath Road. Site selection is underway for two more facilities to open in Evanston and Hinsdale.

“Our new locations will offer even more peace of mind to the 40, 50 and 60-year generations that are taking care of their 70, 80 and 90-year old family members,” states Burack. “We want to cater to their needs and have locations that they can come to for in-person meetings, whether it’s to meet their caregivers or collaborate on their loved ones needs.”
Freedom Home Care is also proud to launch its comprehensive online communication Client Wellness Tracking System (FreedomCWTS), offering families and caregivers the simplicity to can check in daily for live updates on the health and well being of the client being cared for.
With Burack’s 38-year background working with seniors from occupational, physical and speech therapy to nutritional and mental well being, she is dedicated to continue to offer services and programs that enhance the independence and socialization for her clients. Some of these new programs include a new concept if physical well being called Spyrl GYROTONIC®, offering specialized classes to unblock energy through gentle, grounding movements, as well as a Healthy at Home Program, offering transition care from hospital or rehab setting to home.
“Coming from a long term clinical and business background, I am very cognitive about keeping patients healthy at home so they don’t fall ill or get re-hospitalized post-surgery,” adds Burack. “I am so proud of the passionate team we have built over the past 20 years at Freedom Home Care and look forward to giving our seniors and their families the ‘freedom’ to live the happiest and healthiest lives in the comfort of their homes.”
