GET 'DOWN AND DERBY' AS HIGHLAND PARK'S PLEEZ AND COS BAR HOST THE NORTH SHORE'S HOTTEST KENTUCKY DERBY PARTY
It's time to get down and derby at the North Shore's hottest Kentucky Derby Party!
It’s time to get down and derby at the North Shore’s hottest Kentucky Derby Party! On May 2nd from 3pm to 7pm, the public is invited to show their southern charm at PLEEZ, 1935 Sheridan Rd., Downtown Highland Park. The Derby will be shown on three large screens, with plenty of space to mix and mingle.
To set the mood, PLEEZ is celebrating in true southern style with mint julep flights and plenty of bourbon options! Sample variety of mint julep flavors, such as mango and raspberry, along with the classic mint julep, which contains bourbon, sugar, mint leaf, and water.
Guests are asked to come dressed in their Southern best, as there will be a best “Derby Hat” competition for the ladies; the winner wins a private make-up party hosted by Cos Bar (valued at $700), and a best “Bow-Tie” competition for the men. The best dressed Southern Gent will win a bottle of bourbon to take home.

Cos Bar will be on site turning the North Shore ladies into true southern belles. The ladies will run for their roses as they get free make-up touch ups from Cos Bar’s expert artists. Cos Bar will also be bringing customized Derby hats for the ladies to pose in.
Owner Steve Schwartz knows a thing or two about the Kentucky Derby, having attended the event five times. “For those that have never experienced it, the Derby has its own unique culture! It’s such a great time,” says Schwartz. “The food, the drinks, the clothing, I want to bring that same excitement to PLEEZ. Besides, who doesn’t want to get their ‘Southern’ on every once and a while?”
