Gurnee Man Charged With Excessive Speeding on Edens in Highland Park

The following information is from the Highland Park Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

IN-STATE WARRANT

Sophia Maree Young, 23, Chicago was arrested for an in-state warrant and was cited for speeding 26 – 34 MPH over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 3300 block of Skokie Valley Road at 2:39 a.m. on Nov. 2.

AGGRAVATED DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Oneill M. Mejia-Garcia, 30, Chicago was arrested and charged with aggravated driving under the influence, endangering the life of a child, speeding, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while license suspended after police conducted a traffic stop in the 0 – 100 block of the Edens Expressway at 1:09 a.m. on Nov. 6.

SPEEDING 35+ MPH OVER THE LIMIT

Eduardo Luis Ramirez, 26, Gurnee was arrested and charged with speeding 35+ MPH over the limit after police conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of the Edens Expressway at 12:24 a.m. on Nov. 7.

THEFT

On Nov. 1 it was reported that an unknown individual(s) stole multiple political signs from a resident’s front yard in the 3300 block of Dato Avenue.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHILCE

On Nov. 5 it was reported that an unknown individual(s) stole multiple items from a parked vehicle between 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 3 and 5:30 a.m. on Nov. 4 from a residence in the 400 block of Park Avenue.
