Highland Park Man Charged With Driving While On Drugs: Blotter

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING
An unidentified person stole between $21 and $39 worth of candy and an unspecified health item around 10:42 a.m. on May 6 from an the CVS at 1539 Clavey Road.

ARRESTS
A 27-year-old Zion man was arrested at 1:21 a.m. on May 6 and charged with driving with a suspended license following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road. He was also issued a citation for failure to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle.
Aricka Shenault, 34, of the 700 block of Sharon Avenue, Park City, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. on May 6 and charged with misdemeanor possession of cannabis after police pulled over a car in which she was a passenger at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road for failing to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle.

Ruben Veronica, 56, of the 400 block of Temple Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 7 a.m. on May 10 and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and driving with a suspended or revoked license after he was pulled over for a lane violation at the intersection of Half Day Road and Trail Way. He was issued a citation for improper lane usage and taken to Highland Park Hospital after police reported he failed field sobriety tests.
A 42-year-old Highland Park man was arrested at 10:22 a.m. on May 12 and charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license after he was pulled over for unspecified reasons in the 1900 block of Skokie Valley Road.
