Highland Park Man Charged With Theft From Hired Driver: Blotter
Felony theft charges and drunk drivers arrested with BACs at or above 0.08 on the Highland Park police blotter from March 12 to March 18.

HIGHLAND PARK, IL — The following information comes from the Highland Park and Highwood police departments and public records as a record of incidents reported to the police and of those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law beyond a reasonable doubt.
INCIDENTS
BIKE THEFT
A resident reported someone stole a bike from a facility in the 100 block of St. Johns Avenue during daytime house on March 14.
MAIL THEFT
A Glencoe Avenue resident reported on the morning of March 15 that someone had stolen a gift card while it was in the mail.

RETAIL THEFT
A representative of a business in the 1600 block of Deerfield Road reported on the morning of March 15 that someone stole nearly $1,000 worth of various alcoholic beverages. No suspects were identified as of the time of the report.
ARRESTS
A 20-year-old Highland Park woman was arrested around 6:30 p.m. on March 12 in the area of Western and North avenues and charged with driving without a valid license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Christina Fontana, 30, of the 800 block of North 7th Street, Carbon Hill, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. on March 12 and charged with two counts of felony retail theft for allegedly stealing unspecified items worth $354 from the Jewel-Osco, 1600 Deerfield Road.
Kenneth Sommer, 44, of the 1200 block of Briarcliff Lane, Highland Park, was arrested at 3:36 a.m. on March 14 and charged with theft of labor or services after police were called to an argument between Sommer and a driver of a ride-hailing company over payment.
Jason Toste, 39, of the first block of Cleveland Avenue, Buckhannon, and Nicholas Lusson, 30, of the 400 block of Richmond Avenue, Westmont, were both arrested at an unspecified location on the night of March 14 and charged with felony retail theft of $975 worth of various hygiene and other items from Walgreens, CVS and Jewel-Osco stores in Highland Park and Bannockburn.
Dharv Patel, 23, formerly of the 900 block of Beau Drive in Des Plaines and now residing at an unspecified address in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, was arrested at 2:37 a.m. on March 15 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above following a traffic stop in the area of Skokie Valley Road and Park Avenue West. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Dantra Cole, 24, of the 3100 block of Enoch Avenue, Zion, was arrested at 4:14 a.m. on March 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or above following a traffic stop in the area of Route 41 and Westleigh Road. He was also issued a citation for improper lane usage.
Renee Bova, 63, of the 600 block of Broadview Avenue, Highland Park, was arrested around 3 p.m. on March 15 in the 600 block of Broadview Avenue on a warrant related to a charge of criminal trespassing in Highland Park on March 7. Police said Bova violated a no trespassing notice.
