After an impressive run, the Highland Park High School Mock Trial Team finished its season at the state tournament at the University of Illinois on March 2 and 3.

The Highland Park High School Mock Trial Team finished its season at the state tournament at the University of Illinois on March 2 and 3.
The team had two outstanding trials, and while the team was not one of the finalists, two individuals were recognized for their performances: Julia Spathis for outstanding witness and Tess Levin for outstanding attorney.

In Julia’s role she was required to not only portray a character but also stay in character while answering the questions of the opposing team’s cross examiner. As an outstanding attorney, Tess delivered an opening statement and conducted a cross examination of the opposing team’s witness.
This was the culminating event to a great season during which many team members garnered awards of outstanding achievement. The team eagerly looks forward to next year.
