Highland Park Obituary: Catherine Sikevitz (nee Gomberg), 98
A service is planned for Monday in Skokie.

Catherine Sikevitz (nee Gomberg), 98, beloved wife of the late Victor, devoted mother of Gail Sikevitz and Stuart (Ruth) Sikes; loving grandmother of Jessica Honor Carleton, Peggy (Philip) Danishefsky and Eric Sikes; proud great-grandmother of five; fond sister of the late Mac (Hilda) Sikevitz, and the late Dr. Jack (Julia) Gomberg; and devoted friend, cousin, and aunt.
Catherine touched the lives of many throughout their 70-year marriage to Victor, who was vice-president of Northern Metal Products, and later the vice-president of the Jewish Federation in Chicago. Throughout their years together, this couple provided a positive role model for all who knew them, family, friends and particularly those who witnessed their generosity within the Jewish community for three-quarters of a century. Catherine was the strength of their home ensuring that each generation felt the love and support that she shared so willingly. Catherine was the devoted daughter of the late Harry and Rose Gomberg.

Service Monday 1PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd., (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Entombment Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in her name to the Jewish United Fund, 30 S. Wells St., Chicago, IL 60616, www.juf.org or your favorite charity.
